about Insurance in Wisconsin,

Vehicle insurance, also known as auto insurance, car insurance, or motor insurance, is insurance purchased for cars, trucks, and other vehicles. Its primary use is to provide protection against losses incurred as the result of traffic accidents. It is also used to protect against liability that could be incurred when there is an accident. Wisconsin auto insurance is a contractual agreement usually between an insured, known as the policyholder, and an insurance company. The insurance company promises to provide liability coverage, property damage liability coverage, and uninsured motorist coverage in exchange for the premiums that the policyholder pays to the company.
Most Wisconsin auto insurance policies provide coverage to the named insured, aka the policyholder, as well as to the policyholder’s spouse and any other relatives that live in the home with the policyholder, and even anyone the policyholder has given permission to use the vehicle.
Under the requirements of the Wisconsin Financial Responsibility Law, your WI auto insurance policy must provide the minimum liability coverage as follows: $25,000 for injury or death of one person; $50,000 for injury or death of two or more people; and $10,000 for property damage. The law also requires uninsured motorist coverage of $25,000/$50,000 for bodily injury liability coverage only. However, you may want to protect yourself by purchasing more coverage than what is provided in the minimum WI auto insurance policy. Higher limits are always available for an additional premium.
Every Wisconsin auto insurance policy will contain sections that list what coverages are in effect and the dollar amounts of that coverage. They will also describe any rights and responsibilities of the policyholder as well as the issuing WI auto insurance company.
Many WI auto insurance policies contain general provisions that are required by law. It is important to make sure you read your entire WI auto insurance policy when you receive it. As all Wisconsin auto insurance policies are different, it is imperative you understand how you are covered and what circumstances you are covered under. If you have questions, contact your local Wisconsin auto insurance agent or company for clarification.
Review your current policies -- life, auto, healthcare and long-term care -- to determine your needs for the future.
